JEWISH LIFE

From Shabbat tables to justice marches, I live Jewishly—with joy, chutzpah, and an open door. I’m a proud Mizrahi (Arab) and Irish Jew, raised on resistance, ritual, and radical hospitality. From 2023–2025, in the wake of October 7, I served as Faculty Advisor to the Jewish Student Union at Agnes Scott College—and proud Co-Imma (yes, full-on Jewish mom energy) to the Muslim Student Association. Because sacred obligation doesn’t stop at denominational or religious borders. I celebrate Mimouna after Passover, host Mizrahi seders on Rosh Hashanah, and bring the revolutionary legacy of the Israeli Black Panthers—my ancestors—into everything I do. I’ve braided challah for healing circles, led rituals that hold both grief and joy, and served as rabbi, counselor, big sister, and Jewish mama to many.

I live Jewishly—boldly, expansively, and with a side of holy fire. My Mizrahi-Irish soul shows up with spices, stories, and songs that refuse to be silenced. I bake flatbread and challah like it’s a love language. I hold space for the Jewish, the Jew-ish, the Jew-curious, and the Jew-adjacent. I believe in a Judaism that’s wide enough to hold all of us.

I'm also a passionate, unapologetic supporter of the Sabbath Queen Pause for Peace movement—proudly featured on their site alongside my beloved Muslim sister Amna—because sometimes the most radical act is to come together. To pause. To share each other’s lives. To regard one another’s humanity. To experience, even briefly, the peace of the divine. Sabbath Queen’s partner, the Sulha Peace Project, is rooted in dual-narrative peacebuilding—an ethic I strive to live every day: holding complexity, making space for contradiction, and building community at the edge of what feels impossible.

Whether I’m leading ritual, teaching across traditions, or building solidarity across lines that were meant to divide us, I show up with a Judaism that remembers where it comes from and refuses to forget who it’s for—expansive, embodied, and utterly unafraid.
